There are more local dive sites than people realize. Try training somewhere new and add variety to your dive life.

LAKE MURRAY

Lake Murray offers nearby diving with easy shore entries, simple shallow diving, and warm temperatures in the summer. Large mouth bass, striped bass, bluegill, sunfish, crappie, perch, catfish, and even turtles can be found here.

LAKE NORMAN QUARRY

Nearby Charlotte, NC a quarry was turned into a private dive site with so much to offer. Shore entries, paddlefish, bass, bluegill, and... did I just see a bus?

LAKE JOCASSE

Attracting visitors from all over the southeast this lake offers shore and boat diving, waterfalls, camping, beach swimming, and more. Underwater there is a diver's playground including a Chinese fishing boat, speed boats, basketball with a bowling ball, skeleton pirates, novelty graveyard, elephant shrine, pipe swim-through, giant tic-tac-toe game, vending machine, and more. For those going deeper there is an underwater forest and real graveyard to explore.

LAKE KEOWEE

Have you ever wanted to dive a nuclear reactor? This is a great winter destination since it's warmed by the reactor cooling system. The water pressure from the return sends you for a thrill ride. Don't worry, the intake vent and radiation aren't included.

BLUE STONE DIVE RESORT

Another great dive location in NC. This site features boats, bass, bluegill, bream, catfish, Japanese koi, carp, and turtles.

FLORIDA SPRINGS

Northern Florida. 72 degrees year round, these freshwater springs of all types invite divers from all over the southeast, especially in winter. Bass, turtles, caverns, manatees, and crystal clear water make these springs a must see.
